June 2024
This project consists of the construction of a new bridge located approximately 10 miles North–West of Miles City on Deadman Road over North Fork Sunday Creek.
The new bridge will replace the existing single-span, steel Warren pony truss bridge on concrete foundation. The 95-foot single span bridge will be constructed of precast prestressed concrete bulb tee beams on a driven pile foundation. This project is funded through the Montana Coal Endowment Program and U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration. SB 536 funding from the 2023 Legislative Session provided funding to offset inflation increases and the remaining amount will be provided by Custer County through existing revenue.
The original bridge was built in 1913 by the Security Bridge Company.
